Fortinbras A Novella The Fortinbras Files eBook Cora Foerstner Reviews
I read prelease copies of Justice and Fortinbras. Foerstner has created a complex, post multi-disaster worldscape for her characters. She creates the complications that make for a fast, action packed read. I devoured it in one evening. Like Chinese food, an hour later you just may be hungering for more of this world and its characters.
In exchange for this review, I received an advance copy from the author. This is a Dystopian novel set in the future following a war which has devastated society. The novel is set in California where the survivors are organized in feudal societies with a strong leader. Fortissimo is a survivor of his families slaughter by the leader of his village. In exchange for his service he is educated in the art of war and works as is an indentured servant to the man, who murdered his family. Fortinbras is counting the days till he will revenge his parents death by killing the leader. The story is interesting and well written. The characters are interesting and the reader is interested in the outcome of the story and I will purchase the next story in the series.
If you liked Justice, you must read Fortinbras. It's some years later, our characters are older, more mature, more jaded. The city is going to be attacked and Fortinbras is trying to warn everyone, then he finds out the true depth of the threat and he and his crew from Justice go to work.
Part of what I loved about this next installation is we get to know Fortinbras even more. Archangel and Corday aren't as prevalent, but there's a lot more history, more explanation as to whyFort is who he is. We find out who some of the movers and shakers are, more world building. It's all growing into a wonderful 'verse I'm excited to read more in. Plus, there's a Jo, who I love. Can't wait to see more of her.
Another wonderful installment of The Fortinbras world. Can't wait to read the next one!
The plot was engrossing, and the characters were engaging. I look forward to reading more works by this author.

Fortinbras delivers a fun read by the way of a punch to the gut that wakes you up to our own world and the road we walk that could easily end up leading to his world. The character becomes you as you read it, and in no time, you care. I loved the characters, and even the villains. I look forward to more stories from the author
I found this so well written that I was drawn into a world I would not normally have enjoyed visiting. And now I'm eagerly awaiting her next offering, hopefully, a full-length novel!
