Multiples of Six Trilogy of The Six Book 1 edition by Andy Rane Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
I'm really getting tired of cliffhangers where a book just stops, probably where the author is hoping we'll get hooked and absolutely *have* to read the next book. But let's face it, it takes so darned long to write a book, that most people just can't sustain interest that long even if the hook actually works. More often, it just makes readers angry that the writer didn't honor the expectation that readers want to feel some level of satisfaction when they finish a book.If this book had stood on its own, I would have given this book 4 stars because the writing is enjoyable, the story is interesting, the pacing is great, and I even liked the characters. Except for the glaring problem of the ending, the only annoyances were some typos that cry out for a proofreader. But I am so very tired of being left feeling like the fun just got started when there are only a few pages left in the book.
I was really disappointed.

Multiples of Six Trilogy of The Six Book 1 edition by Andy Rane Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I know it clearly says that this is book one of a trilogy but even if it is a set, the book should finish at least one part of the story. I feel at the end of book one I should be asking "I wonder what will happen next" and not saying "Huh, nothing got resolved". I then read book two (which also leaves you hanging) but even worse, then discovered that book three isn't even published yet!!! By 2015 (the date scheduled for publication) I will probably have forgotten everything that happened in the first 2 books. I might give this a higher rating if all three were published together but since they weren't I would say skip these 2 for now. They will only leave you hanging.
Mostly likeable characters/brothers, even though James comes off a little pouty. While action abounds, the "secret" is telegraphed early on. Still, a worthwhile read, despite the cliffhanger "buy the next book" ending. Some wry/dark humor dialogue saves it from being one dimensional, though as the story progresses, and more characters are introduced, they become a little less defined. All in all, a satisfactory read, with a few hiccups along the way. 😏
James Masterson, after the recent death of his mother was struggling with the fact that he now was left alone. Both of his adopted parents were gone.
Then one day, a man, Kevin Powers, knocked on his door, and his life became more complicated than ever, how could he look like his twin? A Dr. Paynter sent him to learn more about his birth, but who is this man, how could this be? He was the only child, or was he?
The confusion didn't stop there. it got worse. A story that keeps you wondering about his parents, his new found twin, and so much more.
This story had incredible potential! Unfortunately, the author's writing teachers never bothered to tell him vulgarity is not a substitute for an adequate vocabulary. Used judiciously, strong language can add to the intensity of the story. When every other word is a vulgarity, it just tells me the author doesn't know any other words. The lack of a varied word choice coupled with spelling errors and typos tell me the author couldn't afford a decent editor. It's a shame-- this could have been a truly excellent book. Rewrite it, learn some words that don't start with "F", get a few good beta readers, and reissue it. Might do better next time. Yes, I am a teacher. I would give this a C minus. Micro writing really does make a difference.
At first, I was intrigued. Who doesn't love a book that starts out with a random murder? But then it got boring and I couldn't figure out where it was going. It was entirely too random. However, once I got used to this author's style of writing, I became engrossed in the story. There are some really funny one liners in there that had me laughing out loud. That's fine when I'm in the car alone, but when a woman standing by herself in the grocery store starts laughing at the jar of jelly in her hand, people give her odd looks and a wide berth. Ask me how I know. I'm looking forward to listening to the rest of the series and more from this author.
Like most of the other negative reviewers, my complaint lies with the "non-ending". I always try to finish a book that I start, and I plodded through this one, hoping for it to improve. This wasn't even a "cliff hanger". It just stopped. Like another reviewer, I resent feeling coerced into the next book just to find out any kind of resolution to the story. Like others, I also grow weary of the "series", "trilogies", etc. Some authors write engagingly enough to be successful at this, but not all. There has to be real depth of character to be able to develop a new story around the same characters. Overall, I have observed that the onslaught of e-books, while convenient, often omit the basics of solid writing, including grammar, proof reading, editing and plot development.
I’ve read several novels about government experiments gone wrong and people running for their lives but this one feels different. The main characters are young people living normal lives and their world changes with one face to face meeting. The three brothers in the first book are aware there is a fourth but they haven’t been told the number is actually six. They do have some information by the last pages of this book but they are still not being told the whole story. There is enough action with everyone after them to keep the story moving but I do wish James would whine a little less while they figure it out. Glad this is just a trilogy. Think I’ll read the other two now just because I’m intrigued by the story and what role the Uncle has played in all this.
